derebusnaturae:

The peach blossom, Thyatira batis

A beautiful night flying moth species

with olive-brown forewings marked with five pink and white blotches which  resemble the petals of peach blossom. The larva feed on various Rubus species, including rasberry (Lepidoptera, Drepanidae – Courcouronnes France). The caterpillar bear a complex pattern of lines, losanges, points, which, together with various bumps, break it silhouette as do the moth wing spots. It seems that both the adult and young are masters in the Art of Camouflage by disruptive coloration.

(Lepidoptera, Drepanidae – both found in Courcouronnes, France)
