When you dont break rules but tumblr community hates you and report you enough, it forces tumblr’s hand to act, but instead of termination of the blog they just shadow ban you without notice. So you keep posting and doing stuff but no one sees it. I think, from what I can tell.
Things I cant do:
send asks publicly, I must be anon
reply to any fanmail or send it
post submissions (been disappearing lately when I hit submit)
tumblr ignores my emails, have almost a dozen sent with no replies
cant use public tags (if I tag something as feminism for ex. my post wont appear in the public feminism tags)
a lot of times, my posts do not appear on people dashbaords
Forget if I am missing anything..
I have noticed some of my posts being deleted too, some really old ones, and just a few. The only emails I get from tumblr are blank emails saying a post has been deleted. Lol very suspicious.
Whatever though. Been like 2 years of this shit. Before Tumblr was bought off by Yahoo, when I got shadow banned the first time I sent an email and they apologized for it and un banned me. Stayed that way too until Yahoo took tumblr and announced their policy change family friendly bullshit and I got the axe and blocked on their emails.

Dis happens to me too. Also forgot your blog is not in the directory and you’ll be automatically unfollowed.
Also if your blog is redirecting to a site outside of tumblr automatically when you land on the page… They will act *cough*
Wrong. My shadowban happened two years before I put up my redirect. When Tumblr deleted my blog, it had nothing to do with the shadowban.

No don’t remember. But I was making a reference to the redirect in “they will act” I always assumed it was that, as I am not entirely sure, but think I mentioned that would cause issue down the road when you first did it.
Regardless, my shadowban was instituted years before.
